REVIEW - If you travel often or just want a neater bedside setup, the SwanScout wireless charger - specifically the SwanScout 703A - promises a compact, foldable way to charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and earbuds all at once. I spent time unboxing, setting up, and testing this 3-in-1 portable charging station to see whether it can actually replace the tangle of cables on my nightstand or in my carry-on bag.

Setup & first impressions
The SwanScout is made of plastic and has a budget look and feel. It features a folding design with rubber bumpers that hold the phone in place and rubber feet on the bottom to help keep it in place on a desk or nightstand.
There are three charging areas: a top pad for a phone, a raised Apple Watch charger, and a secondary pad for earbuds or a second phone. In testing the SwanScout wireless charger handled a OnePlus phone, an iPhone, and an Apple Watch without issue once the power toggle is enabled. Just be aware that this charger is not going to win any awards for charging speed.

To use it, you need to plug the included USB-C cable into the back port and a suitable AC adapter (not included. I tested it with this one from Baseus). The unit folds open easily and has small bumpers on the phone pad to keep devices from sliding. Four buttons on the side control power, Mode, and + / - buttons are used to set the built-in clock.

Setting the clock is straightforward: hold the M button until the hour flashes, then use + / - to set hours and minutes. The clock is a surprisingly useful touch for a phone charger. Especially when the unit is destined for a nightstand or desk.

Daily use and performance

Important: the SwanScout 703A wireless charger has a front power button that must be turned on to enable the phone charging pad. The watch and bottom pad seem to charge regardless, but the main phone pad will not start charging until you press the power button. Once enabled, all three devices charged simultaneously during my tests.

Hidden extras
The unit includes a small internal battery for the clock, so the time remains visible even when unplugged. This internal battery recharges when the unit is plugged in. There’s also a touch-sensitive brightness control for the display with low / medium / high / off settings which is handy for avoiding a bright clock in a dark bedroom.

Quirks and real-world notes
The requirement to toggle the power button for phone charging is odd as it is easy to forget and confusing at first.
No AC adapter in the box means an extra purchase if you don’t already have a suitable USB-C PD adapter.
Compatibility is broad for Qi devices, but Apple Watch support is specific.
Is the SwanScout wireless charger worth it?

If you want a tidy, travel-friendly 3-in-1 solution, the SwanScout 703A works fine. It folds, protects the watch charger puck in transit, and gives you that handy clock display. The power-toggle oddity and missing adapter are minor annoyances if you value the compact footprint and multi-device convenience. For desktop or travel use where you want fewer cables and a dedicated bedside clock, the SwanScout wireless charger is a decent option as long as you don't expect fast charging. However, it is more convenient that 3 separate chargers.

What I like about the the SwanScout 703A folding charger
Foldable, compact design
Three-device charging in one unit
Built-in clock with battery backup and brightness control
What could be improved
Include an AC adapter
Add fast charging capability
Remove or better document the power-toggle requirement for phone charging
Final thoughts
The SwanScout 703A wireless charger won’t replace every cable in your bag (you’ll still need a good wall adapter), but it does consolidate three chargers into a single, travel-ready unit with a useful clock. If you travel frequently or want a cleaner nightstand, the SwanScout 703A is worth a look for those on a budget.
